Getting to Know Me

I became interested in childbirth when I became pregnant with my first baby. I did a lot of reading and realized that I did not have to rely on medication to get me through birth. I took Bradley Method® classes which helped me and my husband tremendously. After the birth of my second child, I knew that I wanted to share my knowledge and passion for birth to other couples and became a certified Bradley® Instructor. I have been teaching since 1990.

I watched a segment on a TV show that talked about using hypnosis in labor  and showed women laboring with little discomfort. Being able to release ones fears and relax more deeply is something that I wanted to explore further. I have been certified in HypnoBirthing® since 2000.

Throughout my teaching career, I have supported couples in my classes during their births. In 2007, I decided to officially certify as a labor doula through DONA® International.

I am also a member of the ICEA (International Childbirth Education Association).

I hold an Associates of Arts degree.

Besides my birth work, I hold a full time job, enjoy working out, reading, ballroom dancing, and gardening.
