The Bradley Method(R) was exactly what I was looking for in childbirth education. My husband and I drove a full 60 minutes each way to take the course with Barb Lindgren, but we didn't mind the commute at all because she is such a terrific instructor. I had interviewed many Bradley instructors before settling on Barb, but most of them had less experience and less maturity than Barb. My husband and I found this class very educational and helpful. We feel much more prepared than if we hadn't taken it! There are a lot of other classes out there that only inform you of your medication options or non-natural methods. The Bradley method taught us a lot about the good and bad of all these methods. Mainly, it taught us to be informed. there are so many interventions that can occur, if you don't know what is going on. this is due to a lack of information. We feel that this course was great inexpanding the information every expectant couple should have. Our teacher, Barb was excellent! The Bradley Method classes gave us such insight on what was happening during the pregnancy, but mainly were focused on what was going to happen. Going into the class, my husband and I had no idea of the different procedures, interventions, and options there were for birth. The classes give you a very honest overview of what birth can entail. The classes give you options to chose from to have the birth you envision. With your perfect birth in mind, you can then learn about how that will happen and know that it can happen the way you want it to.Barb was an excellent teacher. She was very patient and taught the material extremely well. She always answered our questions fully and made the best out of our class time. She had lots of visuals which helped give us a realistic idea of what was to come. Both my husband and I found the Bradley class taught by Barbara to be very useful. The various relaxation postures and breathing techniques that I learnt helped me a great deal during labor. The classes also had good information on diet and exercise. Another very important takeaway from the class is the entire process of birthing as well as what to expect at the hospital. My husband found this last point especially helpful as it helped him understand and anticipate what was to come in a much better manner.
Barb is a great Bradley teacher. She is friendly and made us comfortable at her classes. She is well informed and she conveyed the information clearly. The class my wife and I took were well taught and very informative. The teacher, Barb, was knowledgeable and experienced in the Bradley Method® and other forms of natural childbirth. The book that comes with the class will instruct individuals into the inner workings of the female body during pregnancy and more importantly, during and after delivery. "It was such an incredible experience for us. Jill and I got what we hoped for, a healthy child. To be in the room with Jill and support her and watch her toughness and then to see and hear our little boy testing his lungs, just seconds after birth without any assistance. Then to be able to cut the umbilical cord. This is something that words can't describe. I knew I would be moved, but I never thought as much as I was.
